A brand system designed to elevate a creative space—and make room for others
Studio Savage is the creative home of Charleston-based photographer Chad Savage, known for his edgy, cinematic style across lifestyle, automotive, fashion, and portrait work. With a growing portfolio and an eye toward higher-end commercial clients, Chad needed a brand that reflected the scale and seriousness of his work—without losing the grit, history, or personality behind it.
The studio space itself carries deep meaning. Chad inherited the building from his grandfather, and that legacy became a quiet but essential part of the branding. We took an archival photo of the original structure and turned it into a custom illustration—used across brand assets as a subtle homage to the space’s roots.
The goal was to build a system that felt bold, editorial, and timeless. The old identity leaned too hipster, which limited the kind of clients Chad wanted to attract. This new direction needed to speak to fashion editors, creative directors, and luxury automotive brands—without ever outshining the photography itself.
So we created a brand that does exactly that. Brutalist lines, hand-drawn accents, and clean editorial typography make room for both the artist and the work. The Studio Savage identity coordinates seamlessly with Chad Savage Photo—ensuring both are clearly linked, but distinct in purpose.
The result is a brand that elevates the studio as a blank canvas for creators, honors its heritage, and clears the path for growth in commercial and editorial work.
